Last weekend I decorated for a "ugly" Christmas sweater party. I was in charge of the decor, desserts, party favors, and then last minute I had extra decor so we whipped up a mini hot cocoa bar. I hope my client liked it as much as I did. I found this a little challenging for me because my client was super easy and let me pick what I wanted to do but with Christmas decor there are so many options you could go: classic colors, vintage, bright colors, woodsy/rustic. Luckily after I debated what to do for a while, I made up my mind and went with a classic winter wonderland theme.
Enjoy...

Hot Cocoa Bar
Hot cocoa stir sticks for the cocoa bar (not shown in picture above)
I used white chocolate to attach the sprinkles to the marshmallow as well as the candy cane stick.
One of the host's of the party. I had to share because I loved his sweater (I promised I wouldn't disclose his face)

ReplyDeleteLove your sweets table. And that sweater ... oh my!!! That was my favorite part of the post. I hope he got some sort of prize for wearing it. LOL. The food all looks yummy! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is hilarious! Too bad you didn't do a whole post on that sweet puppy alone! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all so cute! I love all the goodies on the plates...and Rudolph's nose's are ingenious! Nicest 'ugly Christmas' party I've ever seen!
HOW CUTE IS THIS????! Oh my gosh, can't wait for xmas so I can copy the entire thing!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow did you make the owls on the cocoa bar?
ReplyDeleteThey were purchased at a wholesale store called Taiwan Imports.
Deletewhat did you use to attach the sprinkles to the marshmallows for the for the Hot Cocoa stir sticks and to hold the peppermint sticks in the marshmallows? thanks for the help (info)!! :) Terry
ReplyDeleteIt was just white chocolate. Once the chocolate hardens it is like glue!
Deleteomg love these
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find the peppermint sticks? I am in Florida and have checked Publix, Target and Sam's Club. Thanks for any help!
ReplyDeleteI bought them at a cracker barrel. Not sure if you have that where you are but here is a link on Amazon for cheap

I have also seen them at specialty candy stores. you could always use candy canes and just break off the curved part and stick that end into the marshmallow and no one would know :)
Awesome, I thought I had seen them at Cracker Barrel. Thanks for your quick response.
DeleteI like the stirrers with the marshmallow, but not with peppermint sticks. Wonder what else could be used?
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful table and made me want to indulge in some sugary treats. The colours and sparkle also left me feeling a little chilly, the power of fantastic design & photography.
